The financing round was co-led by Mercia and MSD Global Health Innovation Fund.
Turbine operates a cell simulation platform designed to predict cancer treatment efficacy and improve drug discovery. The company is headquartered in London with additional offices in Budapest and Cambridge.
Turbine has secured £17.2m in a Series A financing round co-led by Mercia and MSD Global Health Innovation Fund. The raise included participation from Day One Capital and existing backers Accel, Delin Ventures, and XTX Ventures. The company intends to direct the proceeds towards advancing its artificial intelligence platform, growing its headcount, and forging commercial partnerships across the biopharmaceutical sector.
Originating as a spinout from the Technical University of Budapest, Turbine models the inner signalling network of cancer cells to assist pharmaceutical firms in identifying targets and overcoming therapy resistance. Its technology has already attracted collaborations with major industry players, including Bayer.
