Royal Mail Group has backed the NHS-integrated pharmacy platform in a pre-seed round to help local healthcare providers expand their digital services.
"The pandemic has outlined the necessity of community healthcare and the power of digital delivery. In the UK today, it is estimated that just 3% of all prescriptions are ordered digitally, with most UK pharmacies still lacking the ability to digitise their services. This places undue pressure on the wider NHS and prevents an estimated 18 million GP consultations being transferred to community pharmacists, who are equipped to manage many health conditions that would typically be associated with GP care. Today’s investment will help local pharmacies across the UK adapt, survive and thrive by arming them with the necessary technology to exist in our houses as well as on our high street."
The crowd-funding round was led by Oxford Capital with participation from existing investors including Forward Partners.
"The success of Spoke has always been underpinned by an incredibly engaged community of SPOKEsmen – and for years we’ve been asked about opportunities to invest. We have an unusually personal connection with our customers – so it feels right that they join us on the journey as we build the World’s most personal menswear brand,"
The Series D round values the payments infrastructure provider at $1.4bn and includes participation from several existing investors.
"The opportunity in software is enormous, with tens of thousands of incredibly innovative businesses bringing great products to market every year. Unfortunately, many SaaS companies still find their growth hindered by the operational challenges that arise when scaling; from handling subscriptions management or tax compliance to localizing payment options in every market. Paddle was created to remove these invisible barriers so that SaaS companies can just focus on building and selling software. 2021 was a fantastic year for us, but we are only just getting started. We have big plans for 2022 and beyond and we’re delighted to have the backing of so many fantastic investors who all share our vision."
The London based ecommerce rollup secured backing from high profile entrepreneurs including Glenn Elliott and Jonathan Quin.
"Several trends are converging in the eCommerce space. The category is growing, we are seeing an explosion of exciting sellers with innovative products who can compete with legacy brands by being more targeted, and they need help to scale. This is where The Mothership comes in. Our funding will allow us to support new acquisitions with team expansion and dynamic infrastructure. As we strengthen the marketing for these products we are creating the consumer brands of the future."
The meal-kit retailer raised the capital from backers including SoftBank, Fidelity International, and Railpen.
"This successful Placing follows the primary capital raise announced in January and is further testament to the relevance and appetite for Gousto’s leading recipe box solution, as we meet an accelerating consumer need to eat healthily and sustainably, at value."
