The seed round was led by IQ Capital and Playfair Capital to support the public launch of the secure messaging platform.
"I am beyond excited to announce today’s news of funding from such a high calibre of investors in the cyber space. There is much anticipation to open up Worldr fully this summer, following its beta trials earlier this year. We will offer a truly private-by-design team communication tool without sacrificing usability. At the same time, we’ve seen an unprecedented demand for our end-to-end encryption ‘wrapper’ for Microsoft Teams, much of which has been on the back of security questions around remote working and the meteoric rise of Teams as a platform itself. Working with our investors, we are hitting the ground running and investing in our substantial roadmap of zero-trust solutions for the Enterprise."
Playfair Capital led the seed investment, which will fund North American expansion and key hires.
"Myself and my co-founder, Ian Forde-Smith, always felt the airport operations sector was an underserved market that we could have a huge impact on. And we’ve shown that a combination of genuinely innovative technology and great service is really resonating with the airports we speak to."
The pre-seed round was co-led by Cavalry Ventures and Playfair Capital.
"Even prior to the pandemic, restaurants have faced a hugely challenging trading environment. The industry has low barriers to entry, meaning it’s super competitive and tough to differentiate. It’s also a labour intensive business with operating costs rising on multiple fronts, from ingredients to delivery aggregators. It leaves little room for error. While the last 12 months have been devastating for the industry, it has also clearly highlighted the need for an evolution in the way of working. Restaurants of all shapes and sizes need to get more from every dollar spent,"
The Series A round was backed by Episode 1, Playfair Capital, and Truesight Ventures, alongside an undisclosed lead investor.
"While talent is evenly distributed around the world, for too long, opportunities have not been. I have experienced first hand the challenge of hiring globally. When I was a CEO attempting to grow a team across different jurisdictions I was dismayed by the baroque complexity and lack of affordable tech-driven solutions."
The seed round was led by MMC Ventures and Playfair Capital, with participation from Atypical Ventures, Creator Fund, and eolos.
"As deep technology investors, we were impressed by Recycleye’s AI-led computer vision solution to this growing global problem. Yet it is what Victor and Peter have achieved, working fast and lean, in just a year since inception that gives us confidence that they can truly transform the recycling industry with their technology"
