The North East Fund is a suite of venture capital and loan funds established to invest in regional businesses across North East England. The programme is delivered through five separate funds managed by independent FCA regulated fund managers.
The ethical data pioneer raised £1.5m from backers including Mercia and 1818 Capital to expand globally.

The Northumberland connectivity provider has secured its fourth injection of capital from the North East Venture Fund, managed by Mercia.
"Trench Networks has made great progress since our first investment two years ago. Its award-winning technology and rapid deployment times have enabled it to build a strong track record in the construction industry. As businesses of all types become increasingly dependent on internet connections, this latest funding will allow it to take advantage of opportunities in other sectors."
The funding round was backed by the North East Venture Fund and Ingenious.
"The latest government announcement is another big step forward on the 'road to net zero'. However despite the growing popularity of EVs with consumers and fleet users, a lack of charging points continues to deter many from making the switch. This funding will allow us to step up our activity to help build the all-important infrastructure. We hope to make Elmtronics a key player in the roll-out."
The Newcastle technology start-up secured backing from Mercia and the North East Venture Fund to expand its team and product.
