The Edinburgh laser manufacturer has closed a £1.2m round backed by Kelvin Capital, EOS, Scottish Enterprise, and ESM Investments.
"This new funding will enable us to expand our team and accelerate Chromacity’s growth, both commercially and technologically. We are seeing significant traction with major industrial companies in China and Japan, who are very interested in the high average power and broad wavelength coverage of our systems, and it’s important we are funded to accelerate growth and capitalise on these opportunities."
EMV Capital led the pre-series A round to support product development and partnership activities in 5G and satellite communications.
"We are very pleased to have supportive investors who understand the value of semiconductor-based hardware. This funding will be used to complete the development of our core RF technology platform. It will also support our activities with an ecosystem of corporate partners who share Sofant’s belief that RF MEMS will disrupt the market for high frequency SatCom and 5G antenna applications. It is a very exciting time for Sofant, and we look forward to working with our partners to change the way high frequency antenna systems are designed and built."
The funding round was backed by investors including Greenwood Way Capital, Kelvin Capital, and the Scottish Investment Bank.
"I am pleased to welcome our new investors to NTH at a time when the company is poised for growth. We look forward to an exciting future enabled by the support provided by both existing and new investors in this funding round."
The investment from Kelvin Capital will support a partnership with Henan Lanxing Power Equipment and fund new jobs.
"We are absolutely delighted that Lanxing have invested in Logan Energy. This demonstrates our standing in the industry and specifically the need for competent integration specialists in the rapidly expanding global hydrogen market."
