Chromacity secures £1.2m from Kelvin Capital, EOS, Scottish Enterprise, and ESM Investments to expand its workforce and accelerate international growth.
The Edinburgh laser manufacturer has closed a £1.2m round backed by Kelvin Capital, EOS, Scottish Enterprise, and ESM Investments.
Chromacity develops and manufactures ultrafast infra-red lasers for applications spanning quantum research, microscopy, and spectroscopy. The Edinburgh based business is expanding its commercial reach into healthcare diagnostics and agricultural emissions monitoring.
Edinburgh laser manufacturer Chromacity has secured £1.2m in a growth funding round. The investment was supported by existing backers Kelvin Capital, EOS, and Scottish Enterprise, alongside new participant ESM Investments.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the workforce in manufacturing and research and development. It will also help accelerate commercial activity, particularly in Asian markets such as China and Japan.
The raise follows the development of a remote installation capability for optical parametric oscillators, enabling the firm to reach international customers during the pandemic.
From the founder
"This new funding will enable us to expand our team and accelerate Chromacity’s growth, both commercially and technologically. We are seeing significant traction with major industrial companies in China and Japan, who are very interested in the high average power and broad wavelength coverage of our systems, and it’s important we are funded to accelerate growth and capitalise on these opportunities."
