Novel Technologies Holdings secures £2m to scale antimicrobial textile technology.
The funding round was backed by investors including Greenwood Way Capital, Kelvin Capital, and the Scottish Investment Bank.
Novel Technologies Holdings developed an eco-friendly antimicrobial technology that encapsulates pure silver within textile fibres. The company is expanding its applications into sectors including healthcare, activewear, paints, and coatings.
Novel Technologies Holdings has raised £2m in funding to commercialise its silver-based antimicrobial technology. The round saw participation from Greenwood Way Capital, Kelvin Capital, EOS Investment Syndicate, the Scottish Investment Bank, and Foresight.
The company's proprietary technology embeds pure silver directly into textile fibres rather than coating the exterior, offering permanent antimicrobial protection against pathogens such as E. coli and MRSA. The capital will support the business as it scales its commercial operations across sectors including healthcare, activewear, and industrial coatings.
