Britbots is a specialist robotics, artificial intelligence and automation business investor supporting early-stage companies offering sustainable workplace solutions.
The follow-on funding round was led by OnePlanetCapital to support operational expansion and the rollout of the RAD 40 electric drive.
"RAD Propulsion is building momentum quickly with sought after products. The industry buy-in is snowballing and with an experienced team at the helm in Dan Hook and Richard Daltry the business is on an upward trajectory that we are thrilled to be part of"
The investment from the Development Bank of Wales and Britbots will fund new headquarters and staff in Cardiff.
"We are delighted to have closed this round of fundraising and very pleased to welcome the Development Bank of Wales, as well as the new angel investors. We’ve worked closely with them all over the last few months and they have shared our excitement as we demonstrated how we intend to provide a unique platform for all those consumers in the robot industry."
Britbots has backed the Greater Manchester drone developer through its seed fund and crowdfunding platform.
"Much is written about tomorrow’s world of driverless cars, where we are to be seamlessly whisked around by an all-pervasive fleet of unmanned road vehicles. However, the complexity of the road network and the high consequences of failure suggest that the public’s first experience of self-driving objects is much more likely to happen well away from roads; and human-beings probably won’t be the cargo."
