Tethered Drone Systems has secured a £300k funding package from Britbots to finalise the development of its commercial product. The capital comes via the British Robotics Seed Fund and an accompanying public crowdfunding campaign.
The Greater Manchester based company develops unmanned multi-copters powered by an operational tether, allowing for near-continuous flight of up to 300 metres. Engineers are currently focused on introducing autonomous take-off and landing capabilities.
Britbots operates dedicated funding vehicles supporting autonomous robotics technology across land, air and maritime sectors. The investment will enable Tethered Drone Systems to complete its commercial offering and expand its order book.
