"The rental market has used old credit check methods to assess whether a tenant can afford to pay. We need to stop imposing an unfair “tenant tax” on consumers and stop giving landlords false confidence – it’s time the market used a solution that’s fair for both sides and prioritises giving an accurate assessment. The pandemic is compounding this problem and has reinforced the need for a robust due diligence tool."
The funding round was led by Mercia with participation from the Future Fund, Ascension Ventures, and Northstar Ventures.
"We’ve been extremely busy supporting our credit union partners during Covid-19. The lockdown not only escalated the need for credit unions to offer their members digital access, but also to communicate with them more regularly and effectively, something our technology also enables them to do. Credit unions have been at the forefront of supporting financially excluded and often vulnerable individuals and families over recent months, so we are delighted to offer them technology which not only better supports existing members in a digital world, but also enables them to promote their message of ethical, supportive banking to a wider audience."
The funding round was led by SET Ventures with backing from Ascension Ventures and the Future Fund.

"The UK is a country of renters with more than £85 billion collected each year. For landlords the time spent trying to manage the monies for more than one property – from rent collection to bookkeeping – can cause headaches. I know this first hand being a landlord myself. We wanted to alleviate this by developing new tech that automates the mundane duties of managing property portfolios and provides instant insight into how well each house or flat is performing. Having this new investment allows us to pursue our vision of reducing uncertainty and providing efficiency to landlords, ultimately helping them maximise profits. These savings in both time and money can then be passed onto the tenants: a win-win for the industry."
