The London startup has raised £5.2m from backers including Gradient Ventures and Speedinvest to accelerate product development and team expansion.
Sona operates an intelligent workforce management platform designed for frontline enterprises in sectors such as hospitality and social care. The company uses advanced technologies to streamline scheduling, forecasting and overall labour deployment.
London-based Sona has secured £5.2m in a seed financing round led by Gradient Ventures. The capital will be deployed to expand the team, focusing particularly on engineering and product development, while supporting the company as it scales its operations.
The raise follows a pre-seed round completed four months prior and brings the startup's total funds raised to date to $9m since August 2021. Sona has experienced rapid growth since its incorporation, deploying its platform to clients representing more than 10,000 workers across the UK and Ireland.
The investment draws participation from a broad group of new and existing backers, including Speedinvest, Cocoa, and several prominent angel investors. Representatives from Gradient Ventures and Speedinvest are also joining the company board as part of the transaction.
