Winfred reads them overnight, pulls out the facts, checks them against Companies House and files them. It was built by C8VA, who do the same kind of work for other businesses: turning messy, unstructured material into something you can search, count and rely on.
The funding follows co-development agreements with major food and packaging producers.
"Food safety shouldn’t be a guessing game. We’ve built a sensor that does the sniff test for you — turning an invisible chemical signal into something anyone in the supply chain can read at a glance. When you can read the quality of every pack, you can build intelligence about the whole supply chain that has never existed before. With HERmesa’s backing, we can move faster from co-development to commercial rollout and get our technology into the hands of the manufacturers and retailers who need it most."
The pre-seed investment from the Royal College of Art's Design & Innovation S/EIS Fund will accelerate the development of the company's smart mouthguard technology.
"Securing this pre-seed funding from the RCA is a significant milestone for CTEye. It validates our mission to move the conversation beyond simply detecting concussions to proactively preserving long-term brain health and allows us to accelerate the development of our sensor technology and 3D mapping software."
The seed round was facilitated by Angel Investment Network to help accelerate international growth and sector diversification.
"At Vape Guardian, we’re dedicated to creating safer, healthier environments through advanced vape detection technology. Our mission is simple: to help schools, businesses, and public spaces maintain clean air and protect individuals from the risks associated with vaping. This funding from Angel Investment Network is a pivotal step in our 2026 strategy. It supports us to scale our presence in education and also bring our proven technology to the aerospace and workplace markets, where vape-induced fire alarms and health risks are becoming major operational headaches."
QLM Technology secures £1m from the South West Investment Fund to scale methane monitoring technology.
The investment forms part of a £3.5m funding round directed by The FSE Group.
"We’re delighted to receive this investment from The FSE Group and the South West Investment Fund, which will help us accelerate development and expand deployment of our unique lidar-based methane detection systems. Our mission is to give operators the tools to detect and prevent methane emissions quickly, accurately and cost-effectively, helping to reduce one of the most harmful greenhouse gases and make real progress toward global net-zero goals."
