The biotechnology firm secured backing from the South West Investment Fund to expand manufacturing capabilities.

"We’re delighted to provide this investment from the South West Investment Fund to support genuinely breakthrough materials science in the delivery of meaningful carbon reductions. With strong commercial interest already in place and a clear plan to scale production, Mykor is well-positioned to play a significant role in decarbonising the built environment while building a high-growth, internationally relevant business."
— Anna Staevska, Investment Manager

Most rounds here started life as a press release.

Winfred reads them overnight, pulls out the facts, checks them against Companies House and files them. It was built by C8VA, who do the same kind of work for other businesses: turning messy, unstructured material into something you can search, count and rely on.

The round was co-led by Vectr7 Investment Partners and The FSE Group to expand production of composite timber.

"We believe that every tonne of plastic that gets incinerated is a missed opportunity to deliver low-carbon materials to a construction sector that desperately needs affordable and long-lasting assets. The backing of Vectr7, the South West Investment Fund, FSE and other investors is an important step; it gives us the resources to scale manufacturing, whilst continuing to develop the systems behind our materials and respond to growing pressure on industry to find better uses for plastic waste."
— Benjamin Gibbons, CEO

The Bristol biotech secured the backing to expand manufacturing capabilities and grow its footprint across European markets.

"Decarbonising construction cannot come at the expense of cost or performance. The challenge has been scaling biomaterials industrially and integrating them into real construction supply chains."
— Olivia Page, CEO and co-founder

The funding round was led by Energy Impact Partners with participation from Partech.

"The momentum we’re seeing reflects a clear shift: infrastructure leaders know reactive management of their frontline workforce has never worked at scale. Our customers now include some of the most complex infrastructure organizations, managing 30,000 to 40,000 field workers, where operational certainty is a business necessity. By applying AI to real-time field data, they’re replacing hindsight decisions with predictable, first-time-right delivery. And they’re keeping fieldworkers safe."
— Shelley Copsey, CEO and co-founder

The strategic investment deepens product collaboration to bridge the gap between design and construction.

"We believe that meaningful progress towards more sustainable design and make processes starts with better data: captured earlier, verified at the source, and connected across the lifecycle of a project."
— Joe Speicher, chief sustainability officer
