Mykor is a biotechnology company developing low-carbon construction materials from waste streams.
Mykor has secured £4m in a funding round co-led by Clean Growth Fund and The FSE Group, alongside participation from returning investor Green Angel Ventures and grant support from Innovate UK. The capital will support the company as it scales manufacturing operations and expands into further European markets.
The Bristol-based biotech firm produces MykoSIP, a prefabricated structural insulated panel grown from mycelium and agricultural waste. The product aims to address the construction sector's heavy carbon footprint by offering lower embodied carbon emissions and fire safety ratings that meet mainstream regulatory standards.
The fresh capital follows a £2m seed round and brings Mykor's total funding to £7.5m. The company has already established commercial agreements with developers across the UK and Europe as it prepares for full commercial production and the launch of a new production facility in Belgium.
