The pre-seed round was led by Jenson Funding Partners to fund the commercial launch of the company's electronic Bill of Lading.
"International shipping is vital to our global economy and trade flows. The paper-based nature of our current industry leads to complicated processes and unnecessary costs of more than $200 billion in administrative overheads for companies every year. What’s more, the electronic trade documentation solutions currently available on the market are expensive and require complicated implementation by multiple members of the supply chain. This significantly limits the adoption of available solutions because the majority of SMEs lack both technical expertise and budget to implement them. By utilising our proprietary technology and unique capabilities of the NEAR blockchain protocol, we have created a platform that saves over 80% of time spent on documentation management during the shipment and can be seamlessly integrated into existing operations of shipping and freight forwarding companies. Our pilot partnerships have had a tangible impact on companies, and we are delighted to be launching our solution to the open market."
The London-based platform has raised £800k from family offices and angel investors to expand its operations.
"We’ve witnessed the appetite for long-term, higher upside investment classes like venture capital, and have experienced first-hand the high minimum investments and requirement to have extensive industry knowledge"
The funding will support team expansion, technology optimisation, and marketing campaigns.
"I’m delighted with the success that we have enjoyed during the first year of Playdate and can not wait to build on this, expand the app, and help many more single parents find love."
The oversubscribed round was led by Playfair Capital with backing from multiple institutional investors and angel backers.
"James and Hector have been really engaged since I appeared on the podcast and it made sense to invite them into what was a highly competitive round due to their network, experience and willingness to help and support."
Picus Capital backed the pre-seed round as the monitoring and alerting platform emerges from stealth mode.
"We see a great momentum for our solution from ops-heavy companies, given the current macro environment where profitable growth is more critical than ever,"
