The Series B round was led by Deutsche Bank alongside participation from Deutsche Börse and Citi.
"We’re delighted to enjoy the confidence of these premier global institutions and to give them an important voice on our Board of Directors as we continue on our exciting growth trajectory. During this unprecedented period of global turmoil and market volatility, it speaks volumes for the CloudMargin business model, achievements and strategy that we were able to successfully close this meaningful investment round with such high calibre partners as Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Börse and Citi. For financial services institutions, the impact of COVID-19 has further reinforced our value proposition by highlighting many challenges the industry has faced for a prolonged period and acting as a catalyst to drive transformational change; firms are placing a strategic priority on adopting modern, Software-as-a-Service based cloud technologies that provide agility as well as operational and cost efficiencies."
The company completed the largest convertible round in UK crowdfunding history in under 48 hours.
"This round means big things for Chip. The growth we’ve seen this year has been incredible, but it’s time to take the business to the next level. Right now we are presented with a huge opportunity to capture a slice of Europe’s €30 trillion savings market that’s ripe for disruption, and Chip is poised ready to accelerate and dominate this space as a market-defining savings and wealth management app."
The round was led by BGF with participation from Gresham House and Force Over Mass Capital.
"We were impressed with how Moteefe’s unique platform capabilities have allowed it to continue on its fast growth trajectory during the first part of 2020 despite the Covid 19 pandemic. This performance has underlined the demand in the market for their technology as the global retail landscape undergoes a massive transformation"
The £6m Series B investment was backed by Gresham House Ventures and existing investor Mercia Asset Management.
"We have spent a long time looking at automation within professional and financial services. While the legal world has arguably been a late adopter of technology, firms are realising that automation is essential to driving both cost efficiency and resilience across distributed workforces. In Clarilis we have found an ambitious business with a market-leading solution and exceptional customer satisfaction as a result of its fully managed service. It exemplifies the type of technology-driven and scalable business model that our investment team look for. We’ve been impressed by the impact that Clarilis has already had in the market and as the business expands, particularly into the South East Asian market, we are excited to be bringing our experience to bear and to help facilitate its growth."
