GeoSpock secures £4.2m Series A follow-on investment to advance database technology
The funding round was led by nChain and Cambridge Innovation Capital.
GeoSpock develops a high performance database technology designed to handle large scale spatial and temporal data analytics. The platform enables real time insights for connected devices, smart cities, and internet of things applications.
GeoSpock has secured £4.2m in a Series A follow-on investment round led by nChain and Cambridge Innovation Capital. The funding will support the company as it advances its product capabilities and expands the adoption of its database technology.
The round also drew strategic investment from NTT DOCOMO Ventures, alongside continued support from existing backers including Global Brain, Parkwalk, KDDI Innovation Fund, 31 Ventures, and Meltwind. This latest injection brings the firm's total capital raised to over $32m.
Operating from Cambridge, the business aims to address the performance bottlenecks of traditional databases in managing massive datasets from connected vehicles and smart infrastructure. The company believes its distributed architecture provides a scalable alternative for modern analytical workloads.
From the founder
"Businesses have realised that advanced analytics and rapid innovation is the key to building competitive advantage in a data-driven world, so where billion row queries that took hours were once acceptable, the market now demands trillions of rows and speed-of-thought results. Aside from performance and scale, database technology needs to be built with the future of the connected world in mind – providing flexibility and cost predictability, even as the demands for big data continues to grow."
