"Psychedelic assisted therapy could be ground-breaking for mental health treatment, and the UK is well-placed to be at the vanguard of that as a global leader in clinical trials post-Brexit. Clerkenwell Health’s aim is to establish the UK as the heart of the commercial psychedelic research ecosystem, working closely with mental health experts and drug developers around the world to tackle some of the most complex mental health conditions."
Lakeland Industries provided the £3.5m seed investment to increase manufacturing momentum and support operations.
"The extension of the investment from Lakeland comes at an opportune time, as we accelerate our commitment to provide data-driven insights that enable our customers to make the right decisions to build a safer, more productive workforce,"
The syndicate included Mark Bamforth, Tern Plc, SIS Ventures, and Scottish Enterprise.
"2022 promises to be a big year for Talking Medicines with this new investment. Having scaled up our operations and formally launched our PatientMetrx® technology platform, we’ve now got our sights set on expanding in the US pharma market, providing brand teams and agencies with a new way of understanding what patients are really saying and feeling about their medicines. The pharmaceutical industry will go through seismic change this year and our actionable patient insights will be transformational for the industry. Our new office in New Jersey provides the ideal base for us to build relationships with customers, acquire new leads and drive revenue growth."
The seed round was backed by Pear VC, Hoxton Ventures, Edison Partners, and the founders of DoorDash.
"The typical pharmacy experience has long been in need of an upgrade, and most pharmacists, despite being well trained and highly knowledgeable, are so bogged down by manual, repetitive tasks that they only have time to provide a basic, transactional service. Our mission is to provide a personalised pharmacy service for people who are on lots of medication that makes accessing the drugs and support they need a whole lot easier for them."
