The pre-seed round was backed by a US lead investor and over 300 participants.
"Our successful crowdfunding campaign will now enable us to build an app that will give customers more than they expect and never stop exceeding expectations because we believe that keeping up with rapidly changing technological environment with great user experience is a necessity"
The funding round was backed by SFC Capital, British Business Investments, and New World Group to support financial inclusion.
"We are the first Fintech to take a fully values-based approach to serving communities with a truly systemic approach to financial inclusion. Moreover, we are committed to engaging, educating and empowering minorities to close the wealth and social gaps that exist. There are 1.3 billion addressable people on the planet who remain unbanked. If we want to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic to a better version of our world, we cannot do that without ensuring that everyone can participate in today’s financial system and therefore be included in modern society."
City Funds, South East Angels, and Bristol Private Equity Club backed the seed follow-on round to scale educational and employability services.
"Providing vulnerable people with access to tools and resources that help them develop important life skills is vital to allowing them to live fuller, more independent lives. This is what drives everything we do at AutonoMe and this capital injection, provided by investors who understand what we want to achieve and help us get there, will allow us to expand our support to even more vulnerable people across different services, helping them to live more freely, gain employment and develop and grow as people."
