The seed round was led by Speedinvest to support the development of disinformation detection technology.
"While I was building my previous start-up I saw at first-hand how biased, polarising news articles were shared and artificially amplified by vast numbers of fake accounts. This gave the stories high levels of exposure and authenticity they wouldn’t have had on their own."
The British fintech firm executed the test issuance using its TokenFactory platform in partnership with Nivaura.
"We have succeeded in what we hope is the first step in reinventing capital markets. By tokenising our own equity at 20|30 through TokenFactory, we can demonstrate that there is a far better way to unlock the value of equity, built on innovative blockchain technology which will transform the way companies raise capital,"
Anthemis and Menlo Ventures led the financing round alongside five new venture capital firms and angel investors.
"We are delighted to have secured the backing of a fantastic range of investors who fully understand the criticality of the service that Insurdata provides to the re/insurance market. Our work to date has exposed material deficiencies in the quality and scope of information which underwriters are reliant upon, which in turn have a detrimental effect on their ability to accurately price risk and manage portfolios effectively."
The seed round was led by TechStart Ventures and supported by Ascension Ventures alongside angel investors.
"We are delighted to close this Seed round. Not only will this investment allow us to accelerate the development of the ChilliConnect platform, developing innovative live operations and game backend features, but we can now market the platform to an even larger range of potential customers. Having access to the knowledge and networks of both TechStart Ventures and Ascension Ventures is a massive benefit. We’re looking forward to working with these top drawer early-stage funds."
