The Birmingham startup has raised £500m in equity and debt through a partnership with a global private equity infrastructure firm.
"Following over a year of discussions, we’re thrilled to secure an offer of £500 million in Series A+ funding. This monumental achievement signifies not only our unwavering commitment to transforming transportation but also the remarkable growth and commercial success we’ve achieved alongside a strong pipeline. This substantial capital infusion will empower us to attract top-tier talent, further develop our partner ecosystem, and execute an ambitious M&A strategy, propelling our expansion on both domestic and international fronts to realise our collective aspirations and exceed investor expectations."
The funding follows a previous £1m investment from Royal Mail and supports independent pharmacies transitioning to digital operations.
"Longer-term this is good news, but right now many pharmacies are focusing more on survival and will struggle to fulfil the new expanded role planned for them by the Government"
The financing round includes contributions from Deepbridge Capital, Scottish Enterprise, SIS Ventures, Thairm Bio, and the University of Strathclyde to support clinical trials and commercial expansion.
"Our mission at Microplate Dx is to improve the quality of lives for patients by providing antimicrobial stewardship cost-effectively. Any delay in identifying the correct antibiotic for treatment can put lives at risks and huge pressure on clinical decision making, especially when the antibiotic sensitivity data that Microplate Dx can produce in an hour or less compared to the current approach that can take two days using existing techniques."
The Series B round was led by ETF Partners, Trill Impact and A&G to support international growth and product expansion.
"Since launch, we’ve viewed Open Cosmos as more than a space tech company; we are agents of change, harnessing the power of satellite data to drive meaningful impact on Earth. Our successful Series B funding, with the support of such prominent ESG and impact investors, is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation."
The funding was led by NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance alongside EIS funds and private backers to support product development and customer expansion.
"The £1.8m investment is a significant boost for FourJaw, which underscores the growing importance of IoT technology in optimising manufacturing processes."
