Kimai is a fine jewellery brand that uses traceable lab-grown diamonds to offer sustainable alternatives to traditional mined pieces. Founded in Antwerp, the company creates modern designs tailored for ethically conscious consumers.

Fine jewellery brand Kimai has secured £250k in a seed funding round from entrepreneur Steven Bartlett. The transaction was finalised following an appearance on the BBC television programme Dragons Den, where the founders exchanged a 3% equity stake for the capital.

The proceeds will be directed towards enhancing customer experience at the company flagship retail site in London and bolstering digital operations alongside Bartlett and his advisory team. This financing represents the largest single investment made by Bartlett since joining the programme in 2022.

From the founder

"We know that lab-grown diamonds are the future. Sharing our story on such a huge platform like Dragons Den was a unique opportunity to help spread the word about this relatively new technology, which allows beautiful diamonds and jewellery to be made, without costing the earth."
