The academy sourced the debt financing from the Development Bank of Wales to purchase equipment for a new site in Lydstep.
"We were given the chance to open a second centre in Lydstep but we needed access to quick finance so that we could grasp the opportunity quickly. The fast-track loan from the Development Bank means that we can invest in new equipment and diversify our business in to the tourism market; providing exciting opportunities for growth and creating new work for local freelance sailing instructors."
The funding from the Development Bank of Wales will help finance the purchase and fit-out of a golf range in Penrhys.
"For me sport, especially golf, is a great way of engaging with others and learning new skills. I wanted others in my community to have the same opportunities I had to gain qualifications, while enjoying the social and health benefits the sport offers."
The Development Bank of Wales backed the fintech startup to accelerate its technology capabilities and create new jobs.
"Mobile wallets such as Apple Pay are growing in adoption but research shows that persoanlisation is a critical in the success of digital marketing. While customers want compelling content and a personalised experience, payment and financial apps are not currently meeting consumer expectation."
The equity investment follows an introduction by business angel Craig Gulliford.
"People want to gain more insight into their own health in order to reach their personal best. Our results dashboard is intuitive and easy to understand so that we can empower the consumer to understand more about their own body. Results of the at-home tests are processed within 48 hours via a personalised dashboard and I am proud to say that we are the only biomarker profiling company to offer our customer a mobile app."
The investment includes backing from Ufi Ventures and follow-on funding from the Development Bank of Wales.
