The oversubscribed round was led by BGF and Green Generation Fund to support team growth and facility expansion.
"We are delighted to welcome BGF and Green Generation Fund along with Volta Energy Technologies to our investor base. Their experience of building successful break-through technology businesses in battery and sustainable technologies will be invaluable. With an outstanding investor syndicate to support us, we continue our mission to make fluorochemicals production safer, cheaper, and more sustainable. This investment will play a huge part in our journey to scale and commercialise our proprietary technology with key partners across the global fluorochemical supply chain, and in accelerating the development of a technology that can provide a reliable and localised supply of a key component of Li-ion batteries."
The funding from BGF will support product enhancement, infrastructure upgrades, and team expansion at the software provider.
"Since founding the business in 2014, we have consistently strived to revolutionise how financial advisers of all types use technology to deliver exceptional advice to their clients. There are few tech businesses that can be said to operate successfully across the entire advice market, but we have broken that mould. Today, we provide technology to some 16,000 advisers across the country, who in turn look after millions of end clients across mortgages, protection and investments."
The round was led by BGF, Shell Ventures, and Move Energy alongside existing investors Barclays and Clean Growth Fund.
"We are thrilled to have BGF and Shell Ventures support in our mission to decarbonise cold chain logistics. Their investment, alongside the continued backing of our existing investors, is a real validation of Sunswap’s journey to date. This funding will be instrumental in accelerating our growth and expanding our presence in the UK and European markets. It will enable us to ramp up production, support further customer trials, and invest in the development of our zero-emission technology. Together, we will work towards a cleaner, greener future for cold chain logistics, helping businesses meet their sustainability targets."
The London-based University College London spin-out secured backing from Autotech Ventures, UCL Technology Fund, and BGF to fund its commercial market entry.
"In many applications, we are observing that efforts to rapidly electrify are delayed or blocked due to the cost of raising the ceiling of battery performance,"
The funding from BGF will support international growth, infrastructure development, and targeted acquisitions.
"Today’s announcement marks a pivotal moment in Evolve’s journey. The investment from BGF is not just a testament to our robust growth and the confidence of our investors, it’s also a strategic step forward in advancing our mission to innovate in our industry, and take the pain out of connectivity for our customers. We are excited about the opportunities this investment will unlock and remain committed to delivering unparalleled value to our stakeholders."
