"Scindo represents exactly the type of company we seek to back – one that combines data-driven approaches with strong technical talent to address sustainability challenges,"
Collaborative Fund and Fine Structure Ventures led the round to support the scale up of cultivated fat manufacturing.
"At Hoxton Farms, we are obsessed with fat. Fat is the single most important sensory component in all of the meat that we eat. Using cultivated fat alongside plant proteins, we have shown that we can make products with the juiciness and flavour that plant-based meat has been missing. We’re now building our pilot plant in central London so that we can show visitors a new way of making the same delicious meat."
Ospraie Ag Science led the final close of the Series A round to support international market expansion.
"IGS has tremendous potential to transform the way food is produced and supplied, and our investment – Ospraie’s first in the indoor agriculture market and in Scotland – is a testament to our strong belief in the success of IGS’ technology. The benefits of IGS’s Vertical Farming align well with our mission of helping farmers do more with less. We look forward to leveraging our significant agriculture network to help IGS grow its business to meet the market’s demand for sustainable solutions."
The funding round was led by S2G Ventures with participation from AgFunder and the Scottish Investment Bank to support global expansion and product development.
"Indoor agriculture production is at a tipping point. Grocery and food service firms have never been more interested in adopting this in their future supply chain. Cost and quality of product will be critical to scale this adoption. IGS’s revolutionary technology has proven itself to reduce power consumption, improve ventilation and hence reduce the capital and human costs to deliver fresh and differentiated products to consumers,"
