Cambridge-based Qureight builds artificial intelligence tools to support pharmaceutical companies running clinical trials for respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

Qureight has secured £1.5m in a seed follow on investment led by Playfair Capital, with participation from Meltwind, Ascension, and Cambridge Angels. The fresh capital will be deployed to accelerate drug development programmes in partnership with biopharma companies targeting pulmonary hypertension and adverse drug effects in complex lung cancer patients.

Founded by medical specialists, the Cambridge company develops platform technology that analyses CT scans and clinical data to generate digital biomarkers. This approach aims to reduce the costs and patient cohorts required for pharmaceutical trials in complex conditions such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

From the founder

"our next targets are pulmonary hypertension and adverse drug effects in complex lung cancer patients. This funding will allow us to use our platform to work with our biopharma partners to accelerate drug development in these areas."
