Manchester-based developer tools firm Ittybit has secured £1.5m in an oversubscribed seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Mercuri and Sure Valley Ventures, with participation from Oxford Capital, Baltic Ventures, and angel investors.
Founded by Paul Williams, the company provides APIs and compression tools designed to help developers handle video, image, and audio files. The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding the engineering and enterprise sales teams as the firm scales its operations.
Early adopters of the technology include clients such as Strength:Lab, which reported significant bandwidth savings using the platform. The funding follows Ittybit's recent participation in Baltic Ventures' accelerator programme.
