Immersive Games Lab is a London-based startup developing indoor group gaming experiences that combine physical activity with video game mechanics. The company was founded by the team behind Tough Mudder.
Immersive Games Lab has secured £2.5m in seed funding to develop its hybrid indoor theme park and video game concepts. Index Ventures led the round, with participation from Sweet Capital and JamJar Investments.
The London-based startup, created by Tough Mudder co-founder Will Dean, plans to launch its first ticketed group gaming experience in early 2019. The company is currently prototyping its concepts in a North London warehouse.
The new venture aims to offer social, screen-free alternative entertainment, building on Dean's background in community-led consumer propositions.
