Commodities AI secures seed investment led by Seraphim Space to build insurance products

Commodities AI has secured seed funding to expand its market intelligence offerings and build new commodity risk insurance products. The investment round was led by Seraphim Space, with participation from Insurtech Gateway, Passion Capital, Primo Space Fund, 2050Cap and Portfolio Ventures.

The capital will enable the firm to adapt its forecasting technology for smaller businesses that currently lack access to traditional hedging tools, as well as allowing larger material providers to transfer financial risk for raw materials such as steel and plastic. This development comes as global supply chains face heightened price volatility and food security pressures.

The raise follows a recent data licensing agreement with S&P Global Commodity Insights, which allows Commodities AI to incorporate Platts price assessments into its predictive analytics platform.
