Comma raises £4.4m in seed funding led by Octopus Ventures and Connect Ventures to expand its payment platform.
The seed round was co-led by Octopus Ventures and Connect Ventures to support team expansion and technical development.
Comma builds open banking bulk payment infrastructure designed to streamline transactions for small businesses and accountants. The platform automates payroll and supplier invoices directly through accounting software integrations.
Comma has secured £4.4m in a seed funding round co-led by Octopus Ventures and Connect Ventures. The raise also attracted participation from Village Global, alongside angel investors Peter Briffett and Portman Wills.
The capital will be directed towards expanding the team with key hires and scaling engineering capabilities to further develop the platform technology. This follows early pilot programmes launched earlier in the year that saw rapid transaction volumes prior to a public release.
Founded by Tom Beckenham, the company addresses administrative burdens for small businesses by integrating open banking APIs with standard accounting platforms like Xero and Sage.
