While the overwhelming majority of investment for the project will come from private sources, the ATF's grant funding is very important in proving that the UK Government is confident that we will deliver on our plans, and this will help to generate further private investment. This of course builds on regulatory clearance and a large number of published papers, but there is no substitution for hands-on use."

The future movement of people and goods needs to be efficient and green. There has been real progress in the decarbonisation of cars to meet the UK Government’s plans to phase-out sales of new petrol and diesel cars and vans from 2030. However, the pathways for Medium and Heavy duty and long-range transport are less clear."
