Motilent secures £1.2m from NIHR to deploy GIQuant across NHS hospitals
The grant will fund the rollout of gut-imaging technology to over 10 National Health Service trusts.
Motilent specialises in the assessment of digestive diseases using artificial intelligence medical image analysis.
Motilent has secured £1.2m in funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research to deploy its software across multiple trusts. The fresh capital follows an initial investment of £685k and a subsequent £562k award from the same organisation. The company will use the proceeds to roll out its gut-imaging technology to over 10 NHS hospitals. This initiative will support retrospective studies and prospective evaluations involving more than 3,400 patients.

"One of the first questions we are asked is 'who else is using GIQuant?' and through this grant, we have an opportunity to really drive the tech into a lot of different types of hospitals and give the clinical community the time (and resource) to see how GIQuant can fit their workflows. This of course builds on regulatory clearance and a large number of published papers, but there is no substitution for hands-on use."
