The pre-seed round was led by NAP with participation from high-profile angel investors to support product and US expansion.
"Consulting workflows are uniquely complex and difficult to build products around. It’s not surprising the space hasn’t changed yet. This will change though, and there’s no doubt that the industry is going to look completely different in 5 years’ time."
The Norwich-based drug discovery startup emerged from stealth with backing from SynBioVen, Start Codon, UKI2S, Twin Path Ventures, Wren Capital, angels, and Innovate UK.
"We grow greener medicines using a platform that makes the impossible accessible. The drug discovery field desperately needs new chemical space and the vaccine field needs new adjuvants, with supply chains that work for everyone. By combining AI with plant engineering, we can reach molecules others cannot, and scale them in a way that supports global health, not just high-income markets."
The funding round includes a strategic minority investment from NatWest Group alongside other backers.
"2025 has been a year of validation, proving that SMEs and their funding partners need a more modern, data-driven approach to working capital. This investment round is a huge vote of confidence. It shows that established banks see the same opportunity we do: to bring liquidity closer to the point of need and help businesses fund growth more dynamically. Our goal is to reinvent the business overdraft for SMEs. When working capital flows easily, businesses invest, hire, and grow. That’s how we make finance work for the real economy again."
Anglia Capital Group backs Norwich-based Virilitas Labs with a £100k investment.
"The founders demonstrated a strong grasp of the clinical and commercial needs in this space. Their technology addresses an important issue that resonates strongly with our investors, who are committed to backing impactful innovation. We’re thrilled to welcome Virilitas Labs into the ACG portfolio and support their next stage of growth."
