Bourn is a London-based fintech providing an embedded working capital solution designed as a modern alternative to the business overdraft. Its platform integrates payments and real-time financing into existing financial workflows for small and medium-sized enterprises.

London-based fintech Bourn has raised £3.5m in new funding to expand its Flexible Trade Account and scale operations. The investment round features participation from several backers, including a strategic minority investment from NatWest Group.

The capital will be directed towards enhancing account functionality, growing the team, and forging new platform partnerships. Bourn aims to bridge funding gaps for small and medium-sized enterprises by embedding flexible credit lines directly into financial software they already use.

Alongside NatWest, the round drew support from McPike Global Family Office, Haatch, Love Ventures, Portfolio Ventures, and Aperture. The company has previously piloted its technology with Investec as part of its go-to-market strategy.

From the founder

"2025 has been a year of validation, proving that SMEs and their funding partners need a more modern, data-driven approach to working capital. This investment round is a huge vote of confidence. It shows that established banks see the same opportunity we do: to bring liquidity closer to the point of need and help businesses fund growth more dynamically. Our goal is to reinvent the business overdraft for SMEs. When working capital flows easily, businesses invest, hire, and grow. That’s how we make finance work for the real economy again."
