The funding round includes a £770k investment from the South West Investment Fund to support tidal technology development.
"This latest funding round is crucial to the next stage of this project, allowing us to build a demonstrator that includes a number of turbine improvements and developments. We're delighted that our investors are backing us on this journey to be part of such an important step in tidal energy infrastructure."
The seed round was supported by investors including Unconventional Ventures and Ada Ventures.
"By tapping into everyday energy devices, starting with HVAC, we can provide peak capacity to the grid while helping families lower bills and optimize usage. This round fuels our expansion across the U.S. HVAC market and beyond."
The pre-seed round was co-led by CapitalT and January Ventures to enable product expansion.
"Volatility in European energy markets is making energy more expensive for users, while decreasing profitability for suppliers. Energy has become a tax, ultimately making small businesses uncompetitive and inefficient. RYE’s mission is to make energy an enabler of growth, instead of a constraint."
Haatch led the pre-seed round with participation from Cape Capital and angel investors to help scale operations.
"There’s no path to net zero without rapidly scaling clean energy – but today, developers are building blind. They’re making multi-million pound decisions without clear data on where they can connect to the grid. Yottar exists to change that – giving them the visibility to act faster and avoid costly mistakes."
The pre-seed round was backed by EHE Ventures, Insurtech Gateway, and QVentures to fund product development and hiring.
"Marine weather errors cost the industry over £1.2 billion a year and that figure’s growing. A single bad forecast can halt operations, with each idle vessel costing £100K–£700K per day depending on asset class, project stage, and insurance liabilities. We’re solving that with precision forecasting that adapts to local conditions in real-time."
