Boldr builds smart hardware and software for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to turn residential homes into active participants in the energy grid.

London based energy tech company Boldr has secured £2.3m in a seed funding round to accelerate its mission of transforming residential homes into active power plants. The oversubscribed round drew participation from a range of venture capital funds across North America and Europe, including Unconventional Ventures, Ada Ventures, and Inclimo Climate Tech Fund.

The capital will be used to fuel the company expansion across the United States HVAC market and further develop its platform. Boldr aims to tackle mounting pressure on power grids by deploying distributed peak capacity through everyday household devices.

From the founder

"By tapping into everyday energy devices, starting with HVAC, we can provide peak capacity to the grid while helping families lower bills and optimize usage. This round fuels our expansion across the U.S. HVAC market and beyond."

Investor perspective

"As someone who’s spent a lifetime in HVAC, I immediately recognized how rare Boldr’s approach is. They’re not just making the grid smarter – they’re making contractors more competitive and homeowners better off. That combination is exactly why we chose to become both a customer and an investor."
