"Salesfire aims to replicate the in-store experience, where sales assistants and effective signage help customers to find the right products and maximise sales. In the current challenging retail environment, it is even more important that online stores make the most of their marketing spend. The investment from Mercia and NPIF will enable us to develop exciting new features to make the platform even more powerful."
The seed round was led by Molten Ventures with participation from several specialist funds and angel investors.
"Data sovereignty has never been more important. The increase in cyberattacks, data localisation requirements, and scrutiny from regulators mean that it is no longer enough to blindly trust that collaboration platforms are keeping business communications secure and compliant. Companies rightfully want control of their data to protect themselves against operational, reputational and regulatory risk. This has not only fuelled demand for our zero trust architecture for Microsoft Teams, but we are also being challenged to apply this solution across an organisation’s entire software environment. This funding will be critical to helping us further this mission and scale to meet the demand."
The funding round was led by Planet A Ventures with participation from Clean Growth Fund, UCL Technology Fund, and Cambridge Enterprise.
"At a time of escalating fuel prices and increasing emphasis on CO2 reduction targets, there is an urgent need for action. Carbon Re is connecting the biggest challenge of our time – climate change – with the biggest opportunity – advances in AI. Our cement plant trials have demonstrated that Delta Zero can deliver dramatic CO2 savings on a near-live basis."
Averroes Capital has backed Cheltenham-based hotel technology firm Journey Hospitality in its first external funding raise.
"The investment will help us achieve long-term growth and shake up the industry with technology that addresses key ecommerce challenges within hotels. We have worked alongside luxury hotels for over a decade and pride ourselves in truly understanding their business. Our latest platform, onejourney® – the world’s first unified ecommerce platform for hotels – addresses a key pain point for hoteliers and maximises property profitability."
The seed round was co-led by Connect Ventures and Index Ventures to accelerate team expansion and product growth.
"The fundamental problem we’re solving is context: Plain offers a single source of truth for customer interactions, powered by companies’ own systems and data – so when someone gets in touch with a problem, the company immediately knows who they are, what their order is, what’s happened so far – and can resolve it in a single click. Customer service teams are often left unsupported by their colleagues in engineering because traditional systems can be hard to integrate and build with. As a result, customer support teams are left to contend with poorly integrated tools, fragmented data, and disconnected systems. We’re designing Plain from day 1 with both engineering and customer service teams in mind, so it can be quickly and easily customised, rather painfully ‘hacked’ after the fact."
