British Design Fund has backed Huddersfield manufacturing startup Holdson in its latest funding round.
"With our Electroform machine, we are meeting a clear need within post-processing in the additive manufacturing industry for a cost-effective and sustainable way to polish and finish metal surfaces to a high level of precision. While existing solutions are costly and slow, our patented process is up to six times faster, providing a 90% reduction in surface roughness in just 10 minutes."
The funding will support new laboratories in Stevenage and headquarters in Milton Keynes alongside team expansion.
"Having worked on drug development projects that involve animal testing, I've seen the difference that new drugs can make to patients' lives. However, I felt there had to be a better way and set out to look for an alternative. Our model not only enables companies to move away from animal testing but also improves safety for patients too. We look forward to working with many more clients and scaling the business with a view to global expansion in the future."
The Dublin-based startup has pulled in €5m in an oversubscribed seed round led by EQT Ventures to scale its insurance and retirement technology.
"Kota is first to market with a platform that is automating workflows through data synchronisation and reconciliation, integrating with top-tier health, life and pension providers, and ultimately, delivering employees access to the benefits that they deserve."
The seed round was led by Vanneck and will fund international expansion and product development.
"This new round of investment marks a pivotal moment for InterLnkd.
