"We’ve developed a service in the last 2 months that is available to provide coronavirus disinfection. Our original goal for the business remains to help the planet – originally focussing on the eco-friendly nature of our tech compared to traditional laundry options. However, in recent weeks it’s become apparent that our help is needed in keeping people safe. In light of the current coronavirus situation, we are working closely with NHS and vulnerable groups to provide support when needed as well as doubling down on our software development, including our app, and rolling out the service to London later this year while continuing to focus on our original locations – Oxford and Cambridge."
The seed round was led by Force Over Mass with backing from Backed and Acrew Capital.
"The current payments systems used by credit card companies and most traditional banks were designed 40 years ago and have become archaic, not to mention costly and inefficient for businesses to use. It’s time we welcomed the future of payments and given the current state of the economy, businesses need this now more than ever."
The funding round was backed by Northstar Ventures and angel investor Andrew Robson to support product development.
"On average, we check our smartphones every 12 minutes – they’re always in our immediate reach. Text giving is a really simple and accessible way for anyone to make a one-off or monthly donation to a charity in less than a minute."
The investment from the Development Bank of Wales and Britbots will fund new headquarters and staff in Cardiff.
"We are delighted to have closed this round of fundraising and very pleased to welcome the Development Bank of Wales, as well as the new angel investors. We’ve worked closely with them all over the last few months and they have shared our excitement as we demonstrated how we intend to provide a unique platform for all those consumers in the robot industry."
QVentures has led a seed investment round in the user experience research platform.
"Now more than ever, there is an increase in digital competition to acquire and retain customers across sectors ranging from banking to grocery shopping. We are excited to be working with Glean.ly to help companies drive efficiency in their UX process and deliver success."
