"There has never been a more critical time to take action – decisive action – against climate change than right now. This investment brings us one step closer to realising our mission of mitigating climate change by allowing our team to focus on scaling our technology. From our first meeting with Duncan and his team, we knew that our priorities and values are very much aligned so we’re very pleased to welcome Northern Gritstone as an investor. With their expertise in backing visionary companies in the North of England, I see a very bright future ahead of us."
The financing was co-led by Illumina Ventures and Mérieux Equity Partners to support the development and commercialisation of the company gene editing safety technology.
"Our vision is a future where cell and gene therapies are safer, more efficient, and affordable for patients. Operating at the intersection of biology, bioinformatics and data science, our INDUCE-seq platform offers an unbiased, end-to-end solution that expedites the measurement and assessment of off-target gene editing during therapeutic development. This provides essential information required to progress therapeutic programs that leverage gene editing and mitigate potential risks that can result in later-stage clinical failures. By developing a deployable PaaS offering, we have the opportunity to provide the cell and gene therapy community with this much-needed solution and achieve rapid market growth."
The investment round was led by FirstPartyCapital with participation from strategic industry angels and AperiamVentures.
"We spent our first few years bootstrapping and I’m incredibly proud of that achievement. The goal with this latest round of investment is to accelerate growth, establishing ourselves in the US market to bring our user-first platform to a wider, global audience. Having FPC, AperiamVentures, Gurman Hundal, and Brian O’Kelley as part of that journey will allow us to deliver a better ad experience for both consumers and brands. And being able to do so with our continued focus on sustainability means we will strive to be a positive force on the industry."
The London-based fintech secured £19.3m to accelerate product development and expand internationally.
"In a very tough fundraising environment, this investment represents terrific confidence in what we’ve built so far and in HyperJar’s future as a global business."
