Seed

The seed financing was co-led by UKI2S and Cambridge Enterprise Ventures to support the commercial deployment of photonic chip designs.

"The team has spent the past few years building and experimentally validating our design technology – it’s exciting to have the resources to begin deploying it to solve real industry problems."
— James Lee, CEO
Series D+
£162M

The largest European semiconductor venture funding round to date will support the construction of new fabrication lines in the UK.

"This successful Series D round is a clear testament to the massive opportunity for our innovative technology to enable item-level intelligence in virtually any object on the planet. Our global customers value our ultra-thin and flexible form factor, our breakthrough low cost of customisation and rapid production cycles, as well as the lower environmental footprint compared to silicon. Scaling our manufacturing capacity on the UK’s first ever 300mm wafer production lines at our site in Durham will enable us to deliver hundreds of billions of chips to customers worldwide over the coming decade."
— David Moore, CEO
£2.1M

The investment round was led by Mercia Ventures with participation from Deepbridge Capital and Guillaume d'Eyssautier.

"With the increasing demand from semiconductor businesses for 'second-sourcing' to unlock new markets and address evolving requirements, Thalia stands as the ideal strategic partner. Our AMALIA platform provides a proven solution that enables them to, for example, quickly and efficiently migrate existing designs into the sub-20 nanometre range to align with industry demand for better performance and power consumption."
— Sowmyan Rajagopalan, CEO
Series A
£21.0M

The funding round was led by Lingotto, imec.xpand, and Northern Gritstone.

"Fully Homomorphic Encryption has the power to unlock the full value of data – but despite its advantages, it is currently unviable for anything beyond basic processes – this is where Optalysys comes in. Our Enable technology allows us to turbo boost the workflows and address the underlying bottlenecks that hold FHE back."
— Nick New, Co-Founder and CEO
Pre-Seed
£1.2M

Fontinalis Partners led the pre-seed round, which included participation from Fuel Ventures and InMotion Ventures.

"This round of capital, and importantly the investors behind it, serves both as early validation to the global scale of our vision and provides the firepower to execute upon our ambitions."
— Rob Taylor, CEO
