"We have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback we received from surgeons during the development of the IonPencil. As they have been reluctant to adopt the current systems, we believe our device will greatly improve compliance with new legislation."
The university spin-out has raised over £1m in total funding to develop targeted cancer therapeutics.
"Our technology opens up a new space in oncology drug discovery, to treat a range of malignancies, including rare cancers that currently have no effective treatment options. We are confident that the combined backing of the Development Bank and Start Codon, alongside the universities and M-Sparc, means that we now have the support to fast-track our innovative science into a successful global commercial venture that could help treat cancers."
The occupational health provider has raised a £180k loan to create 17 new roles and invest in new technology.
"We’re incredibly proud of our current position as Wales’ largest, fastest growing provider of occupational health services, and we’ve always had the confidence and support of our existing clients, who occupy different sectors and disciplines. But we didn’t want to stand still – occupational health is an ever-changing field with evolving demands, and we wanted to make sure our offering remained future-proof for our current and prospective customers alike."
MTIP led the Series B round for the radiology technology company, with participation from existing shareholder Foresight Group.
"Following unprecedented interest and an oversubscribed round, we are really pleased to be moving forward with MTIP, as well as many of our other existing investors. Once again, investors have been impressed by our clear mission to develop healthcare technology that addresses the problem we are seeing across the world: that there are too many scans and not enough radiologists."
