Invizius raises £950k led by Mercia Ventures to advance dialysis treatments

Invizius is an Edinburgh based biotech company developing treatments to mitigate inflammatory responses in dialysis patients. The firm originated as a spin out from the University of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh based biotech company Invizius has secured £950k in fresh funding led by Mercia Ventures. The round saw participation from Calculus Capital, Syensqo, Old College Capital, and Scottish Enterprise.
The capital will allow the company to prepare for upcoming clinical trials of its H-Guard product, particularly focusing on continuous renal replacement therapy for intensive care patients. This investment arrives ahead of a planned Series B round scheduled for early next year and follows encouraging safety data from a recent First in Human study.
Invizius was established in 2018 as a spin out from the University of Edinburgh. This latest injection brings the company total funds raised to over £13m.
