SFC Capital led the seed investment round to support product innovation and market expansion at Jack & Bry.
"We know consumers are seeking out meat alternatives in ever greater numbers, but they are also seeking higher quality in the plant-based foods they buy. Key to that is authentic recreation of taste and texture, and we’re proud to have developed a full retail range of branded jackfruit products to mimic all the meats to satisfy that demand."
The Leicestershire food safety technology business raised the seed investment from The FSE Group Debt Finance Fund via the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.
"Every food service business knows and understands the importance of health and safety. I am passionate about making the complex world of food safety legislation as simple and cost effective as possible. Our aim is to become the leading "one stop" food health and safety consultancy, compliance, training and digital safety management company within the food hospitality sector. Having successfully secured the funding, we can confidently grow our business to the next level to achieve this."
The funding round was led by firstminute capital and will support the development of new products beyond the DK-One.
"This is one of the most highly-anticipated stages of our business and a really important step. We’ve spent time talking to our customers and industry specialists, and seen huge enthusiasm for DK-One’s potential. Now up and running, this will be the first time we can use a pre-production machine to demonstrate the DK-One’s commercial and nutritional benefits in the real world and thus demonstrate our vision for the future of food. I am proud of our amazing team for the work they’ve done to get this far this quickly, despite the challenges of the pandemic. We are all really excited to begin fulfilling our customer’s expectations."
The Series C round was led by Kinnevik with participation from new and existing investors to support international expansion.
"This has been an exceptional year of growth for HungryPanda. We can launch in new cities in just two weeks and have established ourselves as the market leader due to our laser focus on developing the best service for our customers and providing high-quality execution."
The Series F round was backed by Perwyn and BGF, valuing the recipe box firm at over US$1bn.
"Achieving tech unicorn status and joining the ranks of those elite companies that have attained a billion dollar valuation is a proud moment for the entire Gousto team and all of our shareholders but we are still only just getting started. The market opportunity ahead of us is vast, as changes in consumer behaviour drive permanent change through the entire grocery market."
