"We have been growing steadily over the past few years, ramping up our technology and team to better understand businesses, the nature of B2B debt and to make faster decisions to serve our growing customer base. 2020 was a seminal year for Nimbla, at a time of global crisis, we were there for businesses enabling them to trade with a peace of mind and giving them confidence to carry on. This funding round will enable us to expand our platform, grow the team as we enable a confident and trusted trading environment for businesses across the UK and beyond"

Aquiline Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in the Manchester insurtech business to support its next phase of expansion.

"The way people buy insurance is changing. As more individuals turn to online platforms to purchase insurance, Ripe offers a simple process for buying policies online while still ensuring quality coverage at a good value. We believe that John, Paul, and their team have built a high-quality and scalable digital platform that can identify customer demands, and design and distribute products to address these efficiently. We are excited to partner with them through the next phase of their journey."

Octopus Ventures led the seed round to support international expansion and platform development.

"We envision a world where the size of a business is no longer an inhibitor to it achieving its ultimate goals. We’re building the infrastructure to give businesses of any shape and size access to the most efficient forms of capital in real time. This funding round is yet another great point of validation for BondAval. The interest and support of all our investors – funds and angels alike – is rewarding in the fact that they all see the opportunity ahead of us. The capital raised will help us to continue hiring the best talent available. I’m proud of what this team has accomplished already and excited for the future."

The investment round was led by BXR Group and Shell Ventures to support product development and international expansion.

"This investment adds the fuel to power our scaleup phase. We have built the data moat and unique tech IP stack to fundamentally change commercial fleet insurance. Our goal now is to deliver exponential commercial growth of our MGA in the UK and select EU territories as well as advance our mission to deliver the first commercial wrapped Autonomous Vehicle insurance policy with our AV developer partners."
— Mark Musson, CEO
