Ripe Thinking is a digital underwriting and insurance distribution platform operating in the UK. The company serves hundreds of thousands of policyholders across various specialist personal and small commercial lines.
Digital underwriting and insurance distribution platform Ripe Thinking has secured a majority investment from Aquiline Capital Partners. The transaction will see the private investment firm acquire a controlling stake in the Manchester-based insurtech business, while existing directors and founders retain a significant equity holding. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1997, Ripe serves over 280,000 policyholders across niche sectors including golf, marine, and small business lines using a proprietary online platform. The incoming capital will be deployed to accelerate the ongoing development of its digital infrastructure, expand underwriting capabilities, and pursue international growth opportunities.
Aquiline Capital Partners, which maintains offices in New York and London, focuses on growth opportunities at the intersection of finance and technology. Following regulatory clearance, the private equity firm will collaborate with Ripe management to scale its platform and reach new distribution channels.
