BGF has provided £3m in funding to action sports brand Ruroc to support the launch of its new motorcycle helmet and international expansion.
"The past two years have been phenomenal, and we want to leverage this momentum to reach even more Ruroc riders globally. Our direct-to-consumer model has helped us focus on product design and quality manufacturing and buck the trend for the action sports industry which relies heavily on large distribution chains."
The University of Reading spinout secured pre-seed backing from Henley Business Angels to expand its sportswear range and smart wearables research.
"We are delighted to have several HBA members participate as new investors in KYMIRA. The company is showing solid growth in performance enhancing sportswear and building an application in wearables that will help identify and monitor chronic health disorders."
The ski brand raised a revenue loan on Crowd2Fund to finance new product development and scale international exports.
"Crowd2Fund’s revenue loan was a massive attraction for us as we are a seasonal business and this offers a much easier solution than making fixed monthly repayments. It is also a great way to access necessary funds in a short period of time, especially as the banks are often out of touch with how businesses operate. We needed to access funds at a good rate without the timely and bureaucratic process of using a bank. Happily, we found that Crowd2Fund not only offered the right product and rates, but that they were also a platform offering a unique way to market and grow our army of ambassadors."
