A group of eight NorthInvest angels has backed the medical technology developer.

"Current treatments for these conditions require frequent hospitalisations for intravenous treatment with high doses of diuretics which is not only inconvenient for patients and associated with a risk of kidney injury but also costly. We offer a gentler, safer solution that can be delivered at home, offering patients better quality of life and reducing hospital admissions and costs to healthcare providers. This round of funding enables Renephra to carry out pilot clinical studies to demonstrate a viable success rate in target patients and to understand factors related to success. This is an essential next step for the company in advancing this much needed and promising technology through to regulatory approvals and making it available to clinicians and patients."

Startup Funding Club and Severn Seed Finance backers have backed the sports promotion firm.

"Eifion’s knowledge and experience of the professional cycling industry is second to none. We were delighted to be able to assist him to develop his ideas into an attractive business and investment proposition, and help him raise funding."
— David Maas, Founder
Pre-Seed
£30.0M

The pre-seed investment was led by DMG Ventures with participation from Stride Capital, Octopus Ventures and Entree Capital to fund team expansion and operational growth.

"I’m delighted to announce this investment in my latest venture, Cazoo, and am very excited by the opportunity to transform the used car buying experience, which suffers from poor satisfaction and convenience and is failing to meet the needs of consumers. Buying a car should be no different to buying any other product online today."

Green Angel Syndicate led a £795k investment round valuing the e-bike conversion specialist at over £2.5m.

"Green Angel Syndicate was immediately attracted to the Swytch team and their excellent technology. This is exactly the sort of business which the world needs: it encourages mobility, reduces pollution, anduses fewer resources than cars or traditional e-bikes."
— James Heath, Board of Advisors member
£300K

The funding round was backed by over 25 angel investors from the Northern network.

"We’ve had an amazing year with hundreds of new customers joining us in the past few months alone. Businesses across the UK are switching to Shopblocks from template-based platforms such as Shopify and Wix in order to get the benefits of our unique technology."
— Kevin Jones, Founder and CEO
