The financing round was led by VentureFriends and Kibo Ventures to help expand the team and increase maximum loan sizes.
"We’ve been investing in proptech startups that improve the real estate journey since 2016. In Proportunity we saw a product that can positively impact the lives of thousands of FHBs. Proportunity founders, Vadim and Stefan, have experienced the pain of trying to get on the housing ladder themselves and we were impressed with their resilience, drive and progress so far. Proportunity directly addresses the pain of FHBs, it makes housing more affordable and more attainable while also sharing the house price risk, instead of putting the risk solely on the FHB and/or their family."
Octopus Ventures led the seed round to support international expansion and platform development.
"We envision a world where the size of a business is no longer an inhibitor to it achieving its ultimate goals. We’re building the infrastructure to give businesses of any shape and size access to the most efficient forms of capital in real time. This funding round is yet another great point of validation for BondAval. The interest and support of all our investors – funds and angels alike – is rewarding in the fact that they all see the opportunity ahead of us. The capital raised will help us to continue hiring the best talent available. I’m proud of what this team has accomplished already and excited for the future."
The Series B round was led by ICONIQ Growth with participation from Accel, Balderton Capital, Seedcamp, Speedinvest, and RTP Global.
"Over the past two decades, the pace of new payment solutions entering the market has been accelerating dramatically to support global consumer demand for trends like mobile payments, digital wallets, 1-click checkout, buy now pay later, and so on. However, no one payment solution is close to accommodating all the changes and innovations that merchants need to keep up. So, for merchants’ payment and engineering teams, this dynamic forces immense technical complexity in tying together multiple payment methods, gateways, fraud detection, and more."
The digital savings platform secured the funding from thousands of backers to support product development and European expansion.
"We’ve been blown away by the response to our latest crowdfunding campaign. This is a huge validation of the strong position Chip is in, and our ambitions to build the next fintech unicorn."
The digital bank has raised £220m in a round led by Softbank Vision Fund 2 to back its ongoing expansion.
"We believe Zopa’s fast-growing market penetration reflects high customer demand for adaptable financial services within a usable platform that can be customized to their specific needs. Zopa is fast emerging as a leading player in the UK’s nascent neo banking sector and we are proud to partner with Jaidev and the team on this journey."
