The natural health drinks producer has raised funding from Henley Business Angels members to drive international expansion.
"The opportunity to work with Henley Business Angels and Henley Business School was super exciting as they have an excellent track record and are one of the most highly regarded Executive MBA programmes in the world – to be able to tap into that knowledge will be incredibly helpful."
The meal-kit retailer raised the capital from backers including SoftBank, Fidelity International, and Railpen.
"This successful Placing follows the primary capital raise announced in January and is further testament to the relevance and appetite for Gousto’s leading recipe box solution, as we meet an accelerating consumer need to eat healthily and sustainably, at value."
SoftBank Vision Fund 2 led the equity investment with additional debt financing provided by HSBC and Barclays.
"2022 is set to be another impressive year for Gousto, as we capitalise on the accelerated mega trends driving change in the grocery market: convenience, health, sustainability. This successful raise is further testament to the relevance and appetite for our recipe box solution."
Guinness Asset Management led the Series A round to support team expansion and kitchen network growth.
"We are proud to take investment from such a forward-thinking, collaborative fund as Guinness. Our purpose is to be a voice for the independents, championing change and empowerment, and it’s great to see our new partners entirely bought into that mission."
The funding will support the installation of 25 dispensing units in central London and technology development.
"It has been a great pleasure to pitch to Henley Business Angels and be connected with angel investors that see the potential in backing a mission focused business like ape2o. We look forward to showing consumers across the UK that they now have a more affordable and sustainable alternative to getting pure water on the go, without the use of plastic bottles."
